SANTIAGO. - The President of the National Agricultural Society (SNA), Luis Schmidt, fiercely criticized economic authorities this morning, indicating that there has been a lack of concern over the low exchange rate of the U.S. dollar currently affecting the country.
Schmidt explained that if the dollar value continues to fall, many export sectors (not just agriculture) will disappear before long-term measures can take effect.
In addition, Schmidt shared his hopes that Chile’s aspirations of becoming a developed country do not continue to be delayed.
