SANTIAGO.- The president of the Commerce and Production Confederation (CPC), Alfredo Ovalle, seemed satisfied today by the law proposal that was approved yesterday at the Senate regarding changes in tax benefits for the construction industry.
“I think that it is a good example of how solutions can be reached and definitely, even if not everyone was content with the decision, I believe that a very good agreement was reached, especially by the Senate Treasury”, explained Ovalle.
Amid accusations of pressure imposed by construction companies to have a law passed that was more beneficial to their sector, Ovalle said that they only had expressed their point of view, which they have the right to do.
“It is not about a victory (for construction companies) but rather a project improvement, because housing costs could, quite possibly, go up”, said the CPC president.
