False bomb alert causes evacuation at Santiago school

This time the bomb threat was received at the communications center of the civil police force headquarters at 8:02am today.

SANTIAGO. - Some 800 students at the Sara Blinder School for girls were evacuated to the yard of the establishment due to a bomb alert called in to communications center number 134 of the civil police headquarters of Santiago.


According to the Investigative Inspector, Rodrigo Seguel, the warning was received at 8:02am by a female voice that said there was an explosive device ready to be detonated, she then gave the address of the school, located at 1650 San Diego street.


As related by Seguel to El Mercurio, the students were taken to the schoolyard, a pre-established security zone of the institution, which is far away from the buildings.


 The GOPE Special Operations Police Force, the Criminal Brigade (Bicrim) of Santiago and the Spatial Police Investigations Brigade (Bipe) all arrived on the scene and checked the institution hall by hall, at the end of which they found no explosive device.
