SANTIAGO. - Although the government insisted today that they will not fall into the trap of those making the bomb threats, a level of concern was acknowledged over the explosive detonated this morning at a bank in Pudahuel.
“There is always concern, we are always on guard, but that does not mean that we will play their game”, warned government spokesperson Francisco Vidal.
In this sense, the official reiterated that the government “is not going to play the role of sponsor or patron to the incidents that may occur”, indicating that the cluster of bomb threats and explosions that have occurred recently in the capital are related to the “day of the young combatant” that is commemorated on March 29th of every year.
The spokesperson of the Executive Branch also emphasized that at this point only one person has been detained, Víctor Hugo Yávar Collante (44), a law school graduate, for having called in a false bomb alert at the Center of Justice this past February 21.
Vidal guaranteed that Yávar “will have plenty of time to reflect (over what he did): three to ten years”.
