SANTIAGO.-  The North-Central Prosecutor’s Office, along with police from Independencia´s Ninth Police Station, are currently investigating the death of a man who was found out lying outside Roberto del Río Hospital.

The man was discovered at approximately 6:30 AM this morning by neighbors who called police to inform them that there was a deceased man outside of the hospital, lying some 10 meters from the facility.

For now, the man has not been identified. Nevertheless, police have indicated that the individual may be a homeless man known for frequenting the area and that, according to initial reports, he may have died from natural causes.

The man, estimated to be in his mid-50s, was wearing black shoes, a pair of black pants, a wool sweater and a dress shirt, and had a visible injury to his nose – apparently caused by a fall.

Police investigators arrived at the scene to photograph and fingerprint the body in hopes of determining his identity, since he was not found with any type of identification.
