SANTIAGO. - A total of seven windows, as well as part of the building structure at an Aguas Andinas pay center were damaged by a sound bomb that was detonated there early this morning.
The report came from the Assistant Sales Manager of the agency on Independencia, Cristián Reyes, who said that the front windows would need to be replaced.
According to Reyes, the explosion of the device (which had been placed in a fire extinguisher) caused a five-minute delay in opening the branch office to the public this morning.
Reyes added that no robbery was reported as a result of the incident and that the alarms had gone as soon as the explosion occurred, alerting the security officer on night duty.
The case is being investigated by the North Central Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The explosion was reported just after midnight at the branch located on the corner of Independencia Ave. and Nueva de Matte.
No pamphlets indicating groups that might have been responsible for the incident were found in the area immediately surrounding the scene.
