SANTIAGO. - Minister of Interior Edmundo Perez Yoma´s proposal to create a national agreement to improve the State garnered applause and support from business owners who met with the cabinet leader at Icare today.

The minister said that the idea of a national agreement is “aimed at transversally and objectively confronting resistance to changes that naturally emerge in all processes”.

Jorge Awad, CEO of LAN, maintained “the concept (of a national agreement) is really a good one because the minister of Interior has a lot of credibility. That is a fact”.
Pedro Corona, president of the National Chamber of Commerce said, “if we could do what the minister said he wants to do, it would allow our country a higher level of productivity.  Our productivity has been falling for a long time.  One example is the closing of the company Cerámica Cordillera.  That should make us stop to think about how we have lost competition”.
