SANTIAGO.- At 9:35 AM this morning, the suspended minister of Education, Yasna Provoste arrived at the National Congress building to attend the special session being held at the Senate to revise the constitutional charge filed against her by the Alianza. The charge was filed following the detection of financial irregularities in school subsidy distribution within the Metropolitan Region.

The minister arrived in good spirits and was escorted by her defense attorney, former minister of Justice, Luis Bates.

While making her entrance, Provoste said that she felt confident that the senators will take their position as jurors in this case very seriously.

“I hope that (the senators) listen to our defense case, that they listen to our arguments, and that they take the numerous pieces of evidence that we have presented, which contradict every accusation of the constitutional charge, into consideration”, said Provoste.
