VALDIVIA.- Two eighth-grade adolescents have been reported missing in Valdivia since 3:30 PM yesterday, when they were let out of class at their middle-school, Teniente Merino.

12 year-old Claudia Isabel Mena Olate, from the neighborhood of Los Alcaldes and 11 year-old Camila Alexsandra Lepe Manqui, from the neighborhood of Autoconstrucción may have run away from their homes after suffering abuse.

Friends of the girls reportedly knew of their plan to run away from their homes and said the girls may have spent the night in the municipality of San José de la Mariquina.

The public prosecutor put in charge of the case to investigate the possibility of foul play, Juan Pablo Lebedina, has said officers from the Department of Police Investigation (SIP) and Special Police Forces are searching for the girls along with the Police Investigation Department of Homicide.
