22 homes raided in anti-drug operation in La Legua

OS-7 officials, along with the South Metropolitain Prosecutor´s Office, made 11 arrests.

SANTIAGO.- More than 600 police officers raided 22 homes in the town of La Legua de San Joaquín during a operation carried out as part of a drug-trafficking investigation by the South Metropolitain Prosecutor´s Officers.


According to Radio Cooperativa, the raid was lead by Southern Public Prosecuter Alejandro Peña, who called the police work “a sucess” and added that eleven people had been aprehended.


“We were able to identify people involved in drug-trafficking and eleven individuals were arrested, as well as some others who were caught violating other laws.  Several weapons as well as ammunition, silencers, drugs and other evidence were seiezed”, said the prosectuor.


The raid lasted several hours and, according to Peña, was based on an 7-month investigation in the area.
