SANTIAGO.- Just after 8:30 AM on Wednesday, President Michelle Bachelet commenced the first cabinet council meeting following the dismissal of the former minister of Education, Yasna Provoste. The meeting takes place in the midst of problems concerning Codelco, EFE and the Health sector.

One of the first cabinet members to arrive at the meeting was the new minister of Education, Mónica Jiménez, who arrived at the presidential palace through the Moneda Street entrance and walked without the orthopedic cane she used while assuming her new position last week after undergoing a knee surgery.

Jiménez arrived with the minister of Economy and Agriculture, Hugo Lavados and Marigen Hornckol, politely greeting Chancellor Alejandro Foxley at the entrance.

As it happens, one of the issues to be addressed at the council meeting could be the constitutional charge that lead to Provoste´s removal from office as well as a glimpse of future considerations for the rest of the ministers.
