LONDON.- According to a British-Chilean research project revealed Wednesday, music may influence the taste of wine.  The study seeks to determine which songs are appropriate for each type of wine.

The study, performed by psychologists from a British university, says that true classic rock such as Jimi Hendrix or the Rolling Stones, for example, is the perfect complement for a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, while opera offers a special touch to a glass of 2006 Syrah.

The research, which was carried out with the help of Chilean wine producer Aurelio  Montes, indicates that different types of music stimulate different parts of the brain and prepare us to register the taste of wine according to the different melodies.

When someone listens to an intense musical piece such as Carmina Burana, a wine like Cabernet Sauvignon has a taste that is 60% stronger, richer, and more robust than when the wine is tasted without music.
