SANTIAGO.- In line with yesterday’s events, five high schools within the capital have been occupied today by students who continue to protest the General Education Law initiative being debated at Parliament.
According to police reports shared with El Mercurio, the schools affected are: Liceo José Victoriano Lastarria, Miguel de Cervantes, Liceo de Aplicación4 and Colegio Marcela Paz de La Florida.
The president of the student center for Liceo Lastarria, Matías Ponce, has told Radio Cooperativa that the students are demanding that authorities sit down to talk with them concerning the extent of the law project.
Meanwhile, a march has been scheduled for 10:00 AM this morning by both high school and university students in Santiago, who have begun to gather on the corner of Cumming and Alameda and plan to march towards the Ministry of Education.
