SANTIAGO.- Just after 8:30 AM today, President Michelle Bachelet began the first cabinet council meeting following her national address on May 21st.

All ministers for the current administration arrived at the gathering, which had initially been scheduled for 8:20 AM, to evaluate the success of the presidential speech.

The meeting is also expected to address the current crisis within the Concertación stemming from the PPD and PRSD decision to run on separate ballots during town councilor elections in October of this year.

Another main topic for discussion should be the education agreement the President asked the government to pass yesterday as a way to fulfill what had been agreed upon with the Alianza six months ago after Members of Parliament, radicals and socialists presented close to one hundred petitions to include items that had been left out of the proposal.
