SANTIAGO.- The Attorney General, Eduardo Morales, Espinosa, announced that the public campaign to elect the Regional Defender of the South Metropolitan sector and the Region of Aisén  has come to an end. Claudio Pavilc Véliz and Juan Carlos Rebolledo Pereira have been chosen for the positions, respectively.

Claudio Pavlic, a law graduate from the University of Chile, arrived at the Office of the Public Defender in 2000 and served as a Regional Defense Attorney for La Araucanía until 2004.  During his time in this position, Pavlic was called on to take over as the deputy National Defense Attorney from the end of 2001 until the middle of 2002.

Up until now, Pavlic had been working as the Chief of the Research and Project Department of the National Defense Office.

Meanwhile, the new Regional Defense Attorney for Aisén, Juan Carlos Rebolledo, is a lawyer from the University of Concepción.  Before working for the Office of the Public Defender, Rebolledo worked both in private and municipal legal practices.

In 2001, Rebolledo was appointed Chief Local Defense Attorney of Linares—a position which he kept until 2002, when he was named Head of the Research Unit of the Regional Defense office of Magallanes, where he continued to work until now.
