SANTIAGO.- After the controversy caused within the Concertación following the visit realized by the minister of Interior, Edmundo Pérez Yoma, and the minister of Finance, Andrés Velasco, to the home of National Renovation party member Sebastián Piñera, the spokesperson for La Moneda, Francisco Vidal, opted not to dramatize the implications of the meeting, which resulted in an agreement to support the approval of a plan to invest more resources into the Fuel Stabilization Fund.

Vidal stated that the objective of the visit had been to seek the votes necessary for the approval of the bills concerning education and additional money for the fuel fund.

According to Radio Cooperativa, Minister Vidal stated, “it is not first time and it will not be the last time that the fence is crossed to seal a deal and consolidate votes”.
