SANTIAGO.- After a controversial visit by the Ministers of Interior, Edmundo Pérez Yoma, and Finance Minister, Andrés Velasco, to his home in search of support for the increase of the Fuel Stabilization Fund, the RN presidential hopeful, Sebastián Piñera, has announced that his party will vote in favor of the initiative.

The opposition leader also indicated that the head of his party’s board of deputies, Osvaldo Palma, and Senator José García would accompany him to La Moneda today to close the pact reached with the government.

Piñera clarified however, that in exchange for the RN votes to support the insertion of more resources into the stabilization fund, his party has asked the government to approve four concrete measures.

The first is an extension on the fuel benefit issued to trucks to also lower the VAT for small-scale transportation workers and incorporate paraffin and liquid gas into the fund, since they are fuels widely used by thousands of Chileans.
