SANTIAGO.- Socialist Party Senator Jaime Gazmuri has said that “the law proposal (to increase resources in the fuel stabilization fund) is assured”, as long as Sebastián Piñera is able to obtain votes from his party, National Renovation.
“When there is a need for votes from the other side, I don’t really care where they get them from. The deal made with Piñera is a good one; I want him to get the votes. I imagine that if he is the leader, this is a done deal”, Gazmuri told ADN Radio Chile.
“The deal made with Piñera is a good one and we are going to see if he can get his own people in line”, said the senator.
Gazmuri mentioned the “unfortunate” situation currently affecting the Concertación after Fernando Flores and Adolfo Zaldívar said they would not support the initiative – leaving the coalition to turn to the opposition for votes, since the current government administration does not hold a majority in Congress.
