SANTIAGO.- President Michelle Bachelet asserted this morning that, “as always, the government will transparently reveal all relevant information”, after a report released by the Comptroller’s Office indicated that five services operating beneath the Sub Secretariat of Labor have not accounted for 8 billion pesos of spending.

The President thanked the supervising entity for its work stating, “the Comptroller’s Office has done its job, it has fulfilled its role as a supervisor, and what it is doing for the ministry (of Labor) is exactly what needs to be done:  an audit”.

Bachelet asserted that the government constantly scrutinizes resources with the help of the Head of Service departments of the ministries and when they come across situations that are not clearly defined, they work hard to clarify them.

The President maintained that, as a result of the Comptroller’s report, the sub secretariat is performing an internal audit “to see exactly what this is about and understand exactly what is being referred to in the resources for worker training programs carried out through Sence by foundations linked to the Church”.
