SANTIAGO.- A new portion of the tape recording being presented by the public prosecutor as evidence against the “Car´e Jarro” drug-trafficking organization reveals the ring-leader of the gang, Iván Cavieres, requesting information about the group’s rival, “los Gaete”, from a police officer that was dismissed from law enforcement yesterday.

On the telephone recording, Cavieres can be heard having a conversation with José Arzúa, a.k.a. “Pepe Show”, in the presence of dismissed officers Patricio Celis and Daniela Vera, on April 14th of this year in Cartagena.

On the recording, Cavieres requests information about vehicle license plates belonging to members of the “los Gaete” gang.  “Let me explain.  A shipment was left behind, with drugs in it, and Police Investigators are still looking for it because they can’t find it”, asserts the “Car´e Jarro” leader.

“Pepe Show” is then heard saying, “okay man”, and gives the telephone to the police officer so that he can talk to Cavieres saying, “my friend wants to say hi, the guy who was with us when we took the pictures of the car that day”.
