SANTIAGO.- Roberto Fantuzzi was visibly upset by the conditions surrounding last night’s election of Alianza candidates in the race to become the mayor of Santiago. Pablo Zalaquett (the former National Renovation candidate) was selected for the position, yet Fantuzzi maintains that there was nothing clean about the way the representative was chosen by the bench.
During a conversation with ADN Radio, the businessman stated, “the hand of Maradona continues to prevail in politics. If this rotten behavior is not cleaned up, it is just going to continue to stay that way”.
“The system was unfair. This is not a poll; let them call it a primary, not a poll. It was a system of in-home ballot boxes”, stated Fantuzzi.
Concerning the election process that will be held in October, Fantuzzi stressed, “hopefully the candidacy for Santiago will be as clean and fair as possible, because when I come in from the outside and see this kind of thing happening, it shocks me, this saying one thing and doing another. Let’s do what we say we are going to do”.
