Tragic death of an elderly man and infant grandson in Puente Alto

SANTIAGO.- A tragic incident was reported last night in the municipality of Puente Alto, after a man and his infant grandson were found deceased.

According to reports from TVN, 55 year-old Eduardo Quinteros Pérez, the grandfather of the infant, fell on top of his six-month old grandson after suffering a heart attack.  The infant, identified as Gabriel Letelier Quinteros, apparently died of suffocation.

Neighbors of the family say the victim had experienced prior heart problems and had even suffered from an episode of thrombosis last year.

Officers from the Police Investigations Homicide Unit were dispatched to the residence to rule out the participation of a third party.
