SANTIAGO.- If elected as president of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI) tomorrow, UDI Deputy José Antionio Kast has indicated that  institutionalizing the party, providing political offices in all of the regions and opening an internal debate within the political organization would be among the first measures he would implement.

When asked about possibly supporting the RN presidential candidate, Sebastán Piñera, Kast indicated that he has not ruled out the notion if, in April of next year, the UDI has not elected its own presidential candidate.

“If, at the time we need to make a decision, we do not have a candidate from our own party to support for that objective (to run for President), we will have to open ourselves up to other possibilities”, stated Kast.

The deputy admitted that he is happy with he way he has developed his campaign and said that his candidacy in characterized by proposing a new way to deal with political situations.

With regards to the financial anomalies detected within some of the Alianza municipalities, Kast reiterated that they must be very strict with regulation compliance, more than with the Concertación municipalities, since “they are very laid-back about complying with them”.
