SANTIAGO.-  The Governor of the Los Lagos Region, Serio Galilea, has stated that for now, there have not been any cases of individuals trying to remain in Chaitén  after the Court rejected a remedy of protection (recurso de protección) that had been presented by the government administration to keep evacuees from returning to "ground zero".

Galilea said that the possibility of individual legal appeals being presented by those who wish to remain in Chaitén is not necessary at the moment, since "we have no reports of that occurring".

During a conversation with Radio ADN, Galilea maintained, "I personally have not lost all hope for Chaitén" and stressed that efforts to revive the city will continue.

The governor announced that, if weather conditions allow, a new sea trip would be programmed for Tuesday of this week so that Chaitén residents may access their homes and salvage their belongings.
