SANTIAGO.-  The president of the Central Workers Union (CUT), Arturo Martínez, has announced that the group is working on a two-day national strike and warned of worsening acts of protest against the General Education Law (LGE).

“We are working on a national strike and that means that we are going to work very hard so that, for two days, nothing happens in this country, that people stop working”, stated Martínez.

“You can be sure, we are not going to play around with this:  Either they respect us and speak with the people they need to speak to, or this country is going to enter into a period of social confrontation that will not do any good for anyone”, threatened the national union leader.
