State Railways cancels service amid legal strike

The company has apologized for any inconveniences the situation may cause users.

SANTIAGO.- Chilean State Railways (EFE) has announced that a legal strike is being implemented by workers from the machine operators´ labor union number 6.  The company has cancelled passenger services on Terrasur, Metrotrén and Biotrén, as well as the Victoria-Temuco and Corto Laja routes.


The situation has prompted significant criticism among users, who were forced to make their way to the San Borja and Alameda bus terminals in search of transportation.


EFE has issued a statement saying that it “apologizes for any inconveniences these service cancellations may have caused users”. 


The company recommended that customers visit their webpage or call 600 585 5000 to receive answers to any questions they may have.
