ONEMI maintains Storm Warning from Valparaíso to Los Lagos

The ports of Constitutión, Talcahuano, San Vicente, Coronel, Lebu, Puerto Montt, Ancud, Castro, Lirquén, Valdivia and Quellón have all been closed to small vessels.

SANTIAGO.-  Due to a storm front that is currently affecting the central and southern parts of the country, the National Emergency Office (ONEMI) has decided to maintain a Storm Warning for regions from Valparaíso to Los Lagos.


The front of bad weather reached the Metropolitan Region this early this morning, although the organization indicated that it has not received reports of any emergency situations from the area.


The ports of Constitución, Talcahuano, San Vicente, Coronel, Lebu, Puerto Montt, Ancud, Castro, Lirquén, Valdivia and Quellón are currently closed to small vessels, while the port of Corral has been closed to all types of vessels.


According to the Department of Meteorology, precipitation in the country should begin to taper off throughout the morning, while light rain showers are forecasted for Friday from the Los Lagos Region to the southern parts of the country.  No precipitation is expected within national territory for Saturday of this weekend.
