SANTIAGO.-  The Minister of Finance, Andrés Velasco, has assured that inflation control is not only a task for the Treasury, but also requires commitment from society as a whole to adjust to an international reality marked by price hikes, especially with regards to fuel and food, and to reach the inflation goal of 6.7% by the end of the year.

“This situation warrants work and responsibility from everyone.  The Treasury is going to do its part,  but it is also important for families to do theirs, the situation is somewhat more complicated and calls for family budgets to be well established”, Velasco told ADN Radio.

The minister insisted that this kind of predicament “is not resolved overnight, there are no magic wands or miracle potions, but we are confident that inflation will begin to go down”.
