Larraín defends Fantuzzi, deeming Zalaquett´s statements “useless and unwise”

SANTIAGO.-  Following statements that were made by the Alianza candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Santiago, Pablo Zalaquett, criticizing Roberto Fantuzzi´s announcement supporting the Concertación contender, Jaime Ravinet, RN president Carlos Larraín has called the assertions (which referred to Fantuzzi as “non-existent” in national politics) “useless and unwise”.

The RN leader stated that the comments made by the current head of the Municipality of La Florida were “a mistake” since, “Fantuzzi does indeed hold political weight, and that was shown during the Senate elections, when he obtained 16% of the votes, allowing Jovino Novoa to join” the Parliament.

In response to the Zalaquett, who also stated that he feels that he has a lack of support from the RN, Larraín assured, “it is a pity, because he knows very well that I tried to help him, and how far I was willing to go for him, so his statements are not justified”.

“I tried to be consistent, for him to be a candidate…I worked hard for that to be the case, just ask him what I mean by this”, Larraín added.
