Minister of Labor says it is “strange” to be talking about an economic crisis

He also finds it bizarre that (despite the current unemployment rate) people are talking about a crisis, when the economy is creating jobs.

SANTIAGO.-  The Minister of Labor, Osvaldo Andrade, has refuted statements made by the opposition referring to a presumed economic crisis that is currently affecting the nation.

“I get the impression that the people speaking about that are doing so from a perspective intent on creating a political atmosphere prior to the elections, rather than making statements based on reliable facts concerning current economic factors”, Andrade told Radio Cooperativa.

Andrade also stated that he believes it is “strange” that leaders of the UDI are indicating such a situation, since they are in fact business leaders - “apparently we have a contradiction”, he maintained.

The minister also finds it bizarre that (despite the fact that the country is currently reporting an unemployment rate slightly higher than usual) people are talking about a crisis, when the economy is actually creating job positions.
