SANTIAGO.-  Radical Deputies Marcos Espinosa and Alejandro Sule have proposed an initiative to establish a National Policy to search for missing persons through the creation of a special fund to finance the display of images or information about missing people over communication mediums.

The fund would be comprised of donations from public collections, as well as from private or public companies (either foreign or national), in consideration of the fact that the majority of the families of missing people do not have the resources necessary to finance search campaigns, nor is there a public policy to address such an issue.

PRSD legislators Marcos Espinosa and Alejandro Sule have also proposed the creation of a National Adult and Child Disappearance Prevention Day for on the 12th of January – the same date on which 14 year-old Daniela Trigo disappeared from the city of Calama.

The deputies maintain that, despite the fact that the family of the young girl (who has been missing for more than a year and a half) has done everything they can to publicize the case, “their efforts have yielded no results”.
