SANTIAGO.- Independent Democratic Union (UDI) Senator Pablo Longueira commented on the electoral agreement reached between the Concertación and the extra-parliamentary left wing, stating that the PC and “Juntos Podemos Más” have “become another party within the Concertación”.

“A new political conglomerate has been formed that includes that communist party.  The Communist Party (PC) and the political coalition ´Junto Podemos Más´ have become another part of the Concertación, because they are participating in some areas and excluding themselves from other areas just like the Radicals and the Party for Democracy”, Longueira maintained during an interview with Radio Agricultura.

“The exclusion issue has ended in Chile today, because they could employ the same strategy –of joining forces with the Communist Party- during the next parliamentary and presidential elections”, declared the senator for East Santiago.

Longueira indicated that the Concertación and the PC had reached an agreement that he hopes will remain intact over the next few years, since the pact allows for the party headed by Guillermo Tellier to be represented.
