SANTIAGO.- Faced with the high CPI figure that was registered for July, the Minister of Finance, Andrés Velasco, called on the political and business sectors to contribute to the effort to reduce inflation.

“It is crucial to keep it (inflation) from continuing, keep it from spreading within the national economy, and the treasury is certainly going to do its part, we hope other sectors, business leaders, unions, politicians, and even families when it comes time to manage their budgets, also offer their support”, stated Velasco.

During his speech at the economic forecast seminar “Chile Frente a un Escenario Mundial Cambiante” (“Chile Amid a Changing World Environment”), organized by Amcham, the Council of the Americas and El Mercurio, Velasco also revealed a possible growth figure of 4% for this year.
