SANTIAGO.- The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has announced that repairs being performed on the Teno Bridge located on Route 5 South will be completed during the first week of October.

The statement was issued by the undersecretary of the ministry, Juan Eduardo Saldivia, months after a section of the important road was blocked in the Seventh Region.

The undersecretary indicated that the roadway has not suffered any other damages but stated that only the eastern side of the bridge continues to be open to traffic.

The Teno Bridge was damaged by rainstorms during May of this year, when the structure underwent a collapse over 80 meters in length at its southern access point, blocking Route 5.
