Police seize two thousand pharmaceuticals in drug enforcement operation in San Ramón

A lesser quantity of cocaine and marijuana was also found in three raids early this morning.

SANTIAGO.- Police of the Southern section Special Operations 7 (OS-7) detained five individuals, two of whom were women, and raided three homes in a drug enforcement operative in the municipality of San Ramón early this morning.


The raid took place at approximately 6:15am and lasted for about 50 minutes, in which time homes were searched on the Miraflores and Lircay streets in the neighborhood of Libertad of the aforementioned municipality.


Officials backed by personnel from the Special Forces and Special Operations GOPE force seized more than two thousand pharmaceutical products and a smaller quantity of marijuana and cocaine, as well as cash and a revolver.


It was with this firearm that one of the yet- to- be- identified detainees tried to confront police, but then surrendered once he realized he was outnumbered.


According to sources, the accused individuals would sell drugs and pharmaceuticals to people in the eastern part of the city, in this neighborhood known to house providers of stupefacient drugs. In fact, the investigation was initiated due to numerous complaints from residents in this part of the capital city.
