SANTIAGO.- The Los Libertadores mountain pass at the Chile-Argentina border was reopened today following a storm front that passed through the mountain range.
According to the National Emergency Office (ONEMI), the pass was opened at 8:00 AM this morning for light automobiles and buses, and was opened for cargo vehicles at 9:15 AM.
Now that traffic at the pass has resumed, the Los Libertadores Border Complex will also remain open and will observe the normal winter hours of operation.
Yesterday, the closure of the pass caused a significant traffic jam in the area, especially affecting cargo trucks.
