Police arrest man accused of raping his 13 year-old daughter

SANTIAGO.- This morning, the Sexual Crimes Investigation Unit of the National Police Bureau of Investigation (PDI) announced the arrest of a man who is charged with sexually abusing his daughter for more than four years.

Reports from Radio Bio Bio indicated that the suspect, identified as 32 year-old Nibaldo Ramírez Ramírez, reportedly began the abuse with sexual molestation and eventually raped his daughter on numerous occasions. She is now 13 years-old.

According to information released by the PDI, the young girl was raped many times over the last two years while her mother left the home to pick up one of her other children from school.

The crime was reported by relatives of the young girl, who noticed a sharp change in her behaviour during recent months and decided to contact police and then the PDI with their suspicions. Both the police and the PDI later confirmed the rape and sexual molestation of the girl.
