SANTIAGO.- After a long wait and the speculated possibility that he would set off to join the Spanish leagues, it has finally been determined the Gonzalo Fierro will play on the team "Flamengo de Brazil".

According statements Fierro made to the Brazilian newspaper "Globo Esporte", the contract will be 4 years in duration, although it was noted that an agreement still needs to be reached between the Brazilian club and Colo Colo.

"I have already arranged it. The contract will be for four years. But I can't say I am an official Flamengo player yet because there still needs to be a meeting with Colo Colo, my manager and representatives for the Brazilian club", Fierro stated today.

According to the periodical, the vice president of the Flamengo club, Kleber Leite, is anxiously awaiting the conclusion of negotiations so that the striker can finally be brought to Brazil.

Nevertheless, the president of Colo Colo, Gabriel Ruiz-Tagle, told fans to remain calm, claiming that the press is publishing early assumptions that are not necessarily true.

"I want to tell all of the fans that, even though we are negotiating, we still don't have a formal offer on the table to cement the transfer of our playmaker", he warned.

The Colo Colo president added that "without the offer that has to be received in order for this to pan out, we cannot yet confirm any kind of transaction, nor can we transfer Gonzalo Fierro".
