Man stabbed to death in confrontation in Maipu

Police found the attacker and the murder weapon just blocks from the crime scene.

SANTIAGO.- 29 year-old Alejandro Toro Pereira was killed in the municipality of Maipu after he was stabbed in the torso by a man who has been identified as 27 year-old José Adán González.


The victim was walking home with a woman along Avenida Salvador Allende in the aforementioned municipality, when he was ambushed by two individuals at the Lo Errázuriz Bridge. An altercation then ensued, which ended in the fatal attack on the victim.


According to Police Captain Carlos Carminatti, the murder may have been motivated by a prior scuffle. Carminatti explained that police found the attacker and the murder weapon just a few blocks from the scene of the crime.


Radio Cooperativa has reported that police are currently searching for the woman who was with the victim at the time of the murder, as well as the suspect who had been accompanying the attacker.
