LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 1.98% loss at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for USD$ 3.27721 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to USD$ 3.34343 on Monday and USD$ 3.40648 on Friday.
Today's value is the lowest price the mineral has registered since February 6th of this year, when it was priced at USD$ 3.25 per pound.
As a result, the monthly average was reported to be at USD$ 3.31032, while the yearly average dropped to USD$ 3.66700.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price ended at USD$ 3.25725 per pound, down 2.43% from Monday (USD$ 3.33844).
At the LME, stocks rose by 6,075 metric tons to 179,800.
