RIO DE JANEIRO.- By playing a strong offense just as President Luiz Ignácio Lula da Silva had instructed, Brazil defeated Chile at the 2010 World Cup qualifying matches.  According to the Brazilian press the team took home an important win, which has cemented the position of the group's coach, Carlos Dunga, who had been under a great deal of pressure.

The Brazilian newspapers are currently gushing over what they consider to be the best match for the country's national team in recent months, boosting the nation from 5th to 2nd place in the qualifying matches.

"Victory guarantees Dunga's position", "Finally... Brazil enters the field", "Brazil defeats Chile, allowing Dunga to rest easy", "Brazil plays like Brazil and scores", "What a pleasure", "Courage and unity" and "Brazil gets in the groove"- were some of the headlines gracing Brazilian newspapers today.

"With a new attitude on the field, Brazil was able to defeat Chile. The players on Brazil's national team have lived up to their promise to guarantee Dunga's position", stated the "O Globo" newspaper.

"Brazil plays with courage and unity, leaving behind Argentina after rising to 2nd position in the qualifying matches", indicates the sports periodical "Lance".

According to the newspaper "Jornal do Brasil", the Brazilian national team easily overcame their rival and bore no resemblance to the apathetic group that played during recent matches under Coach Dunga.
