Men try to bribe police after being arrested on domestic violence charges

SANTIAGO.- In addition to the crime committed by a trucker who was detained in Osorno on Friday, two more individuals attempted to bribe police officers after they were arrested early this morning on charges of domestic violence.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the men attempted to pay 934 thousand pesos, which they had on them at the time of the arrest, in exchange for their freedom.

The men, identified as Johnny San Martín and Pedro Caro Fuentes (29) had been detained after they had attacked Caro's wife while under the influence of alcohol.

Following reports called in by neighbors, uniformed police officers arrived at the scene. Caro threatened them with a gun, but was not able to evade capture by police.

According to police reports, both men will be charged with inflicting serious injury, threatening with a firearm and threatening authority, as well as bribery.
