SANTIAGO.- Tennis players Robinson Méndez and Francisco Cayulef were eliminated during the first round of the 2008 Paralympics doubles tournament in Beijing after losing by 6-0 and 6-2 to Thai players Suthi Khlongrua and Sumrerngo Kruamai.

After only one hour of play, the Chilean pair bid farewell to the Paralympics following both players' defeats in the singles tournament.

Following the match at the 9th court of the Green Tennis Center in Bejing, the Chilean players said that they were disappointed.

"I wasn't able to concentrate. Their serves made me nervous because they came at us with a lot of spin. They weren't that fast, but they still made me uncomfortable throughout the match", stated Cayulef.

"We played badly. They didn't have that strong of a game, but the anxiety and the nerves got to us. I am sad because I wanted to do more, I had higher expectations, but we just couldn’t do it", stated Méndez.
