SANTIAGO.-  Following yesterday's arrest of three people who were caught distributing pamphlets to incite acts of violence this September 11th, Undersecretary of Interior Felipe Harboe has issued a call for public conscience in an effort to curb hostility.

"It is important for there to be a public conscience. We have called on parents and adults to prevent children who know nothing about the year 1973 from participating in the demonstrations", Harboe stated during an interview with Radio ADN.

The undersecretary also stressed that the participation of all citizens is needed in order to prevent confrontations between unruly protesters and law enforcement.

"We have to be responsible, we have to avoid a situation of violence and to do that we also need the cooperation of citizens", the undersecretary of Interior indicated, while assuring that the government is employing all means necessary to ensure civil safety.
