SANTIAGO.- One year after the death of Officer Vera (killed during the 2007 riots on September 11th) his widow, Elizabeth Mori, confirms that justice has been served following the murderer's arrest, but claims that she has not received any kind of aid from the government or the police.

"It has been a hard year and I have had to cope with things on my own with my children (…)  It all happened so fast, they arrested the young man and charged him, that part was fast. The fact that he was captured has allowed justice to be served", the widow told Radio Cooperativa.

In the aftermath of the murder, Mori says that her three children were rewarded with all of the financial benefits available from the State and the National Police Force. She however, as she was not married to Officer Vera, has not received any type of psychological or financial support.

"Since there is no law concerning live-in partners, I have no support from the police or the government, in fact the only aid I am receiving -70% of the minimum pension- is for while the children are studying", stated Mori.

The widow added that the children have not been given psychological help either.
