SANTIAGO.- Repercussions of Chile's 4-0 defeat over Colombia last night have invariably surfaced in the coffee producing nation.

"El País", one of the most important newspapers in Bogotá, read: "Humiliating, sad, disappointing, frustrating… all of these words can be used to describe the catastrophic loss suffered by the Colombian national team last night to Chile".

"It was a 4-0 defeat in Santiago, which in the world of soccer is also referred to as a "paliza" (hammering) -continued the periodical-. Colombia's match last night was horrific.  It was just as bad as the one played in Bogotá against Uruguay last Saturday. The team was just too weak, with no hierarchy in the line-up and easily taken by a rival that surpassed them in desire and will to conquer on the field, rather than just play soccer".

The paper claims that Jorge Luis Pinto's team "did not realize that Chile is stronger with the ball at ground level and that is how they managed to penetrate Colombia with four goals".

"Marcelo Bielsa's men had an exceptional player, Mark González, who destroyed Amaranto Perea in the left field and fashioned the best offensive plays at the stadium", it gushes.
