SANTIAGO.- More than 200 Transantiago buses suffered casualties yesterday in the violent demonstrations carried out in the capital city. The protests were in commemoration of the military coup of September 11 of 1973.

The vehicles belong to the company SuBus and were incapacitated today due to the damages.

The millions of pesos in losses were for the most part registered in damages to the windows and seats, as well as scratches on the exterior, informed Radio Bío Bío.

This situation adds to the tally of numerous damages to public and private property occasioned yesterday during the September 11 demonstrations. Many small businesses were affected by break-ins and looting, and power lines were damaged and cut, leaving 200 thousand people without power.
