LONDON.- Copper closed with a 0.55% loss today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 3.10303 per pound of "grade A", compared to US$ 3.12026 on Monday of this week and US$ 3.21869 on Friday of last week.
The value is the lowest for the red metal since January 3rd of this year, when ended at US$ 3.06 per pound.
As a result, the monthly average dropped to US$ 3.21083, while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.64055.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price finished at US$ 3.08216 per pound, down 0.37% from Monday (US$ 3.09373).
At the LME, stocks rose by 975 metric tons to 205,325.
