Copper up by almost 4%, reaching US$ 3.25 at London Metal Exchange

LONDON.- Copper closed with a gain of 3.85% today at the London Metal Exchange (LME), after trading for US$ 3.25044 per pound of grade A material, compared to US $3.12979 on Friday and US$ 3.14430 on Thursday of last week.


Despite the increase, the monthly average dropped to US$ 3.19993, while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.63026.


Meanwhile, the future 3 month price ended at US$ 3.23865 per pound, up 3.98% from Friday (US$ 3.11482).


At the LME, stocks decreased by 3,100 metric tons to 206,700.
