Copper breaks pattern, slumps 1% at London Exchange

The red metal slipped to US$ 3.21 per pound.

LONDON.- Copper closed with a loss of 1.06% this Tuesday at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 3.21597 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 3.25044 on Monday and US$ 3.12979 on Friday.


Despite the loss, the monthly average rose to US$ 3.20087, although the yearly average fell to US$ 3.62802.


Meanwhile, the future-3-month price ended at US$ 3.21642 per pound, down -0.69% from Monday (US$ 3.23865).


At the LME, stocks fell by 4,625 metric tons to 202,075.
